Your mission

As a Research Associate in our Cell Culture team, you will contribute to recombinant protein expression across multiple expression systems. Depending on your background and interests, you will work in one or more of our core platforms: insect cellsmammalian cells, bacterial cells, or yeast.

Your responsibilities include:
  • Expression of recombinant proteins using classic and high‑throughput cell culture techniques
  • Cultivation and handling of diverse expression systems (e.g., insect cells, mammalian cells, E. coli, yeast)
  • Performing small- and large‑scale expression experiments, screenings, or fermentation processes (bacterial or yeast)
  • Conducting cell biology workflows, such as transformation/transfection, plasmid DNA preparation, and baculovirus amplification
  • Executing protein analyses using a broad range of biochemical and biophysical methods
  • Accurate documentation of all experimental steps according to internal guidelines and customer requirements
  • Collaborating in multidisciplinary project teams in an industrial drug discovery environment

Your profile

You are someone who enjoys hands‑on work in a dynamic, collaborative environment. Beyond your technical skills, you bring curiosity, ownership, and a strong sense of responsibility into the lab, ideally along with experience in one or more of our key expression systems.
  • Successfully completed training as CTA/MTA/BTA, chemistry/biology laboratory assistant, or a degree in life sciences (no doctorate)
  • Handson experience in cell culture with at least one of the following systems: insect, mammalian, bacterial, or yeast.
  • A structured, careful, and quality‑oriented way of working, even when handling multiple tasks simultaneously
  • High motivation, curiosity, and enjoyment of innovative and challenging tasks
  • Ability to work effectively in a team, strong communication skills, and interest in learning new methods
  • Experience with data maintenance and evaluation, ideally using LIMS systems
  • Good MS Office skills as well as English and German language skills
  • Strong organizational skills, particularly in managing laboratory projects
